International Racing in South Africa with the International Sports Prototype Series

isp_logoWe get special invitations to all kinds of events but the one that will really make you sit up is the ISP (International Sports Prototypes) series run by motor-racing legend David Piper and his good friend Mike Knight, the owner and instructor at the Winfield racing school which has had no less than thirty F1 drivers through its gates.

In the ISP series you will be welcomed to race against the monsters of the 60s and 70s. Test your metal against Big Mac V8s, Cobras, Piper's own Porsche 917, Ferrari P1s, P2s, P3s, P4s and Lola T70s - in essence, the very cars that defined motor racing as the ultimate man's sport. This is an event for truly excellent cars, although it's not expensive to do. Best of all, being abroad, it's sunny and warm when England is wet.

So you can either scuttle along a rain sodden pavement looking at the reflection of the chip shop upside down hurrying to get home before it gets dark. Or you can step into your new racing car in Africa as a competitor in the ISP trophy races. We will organise all your shipping and various insurances, your track fees, even your hire car and your hotel. Just turn up, sunbathe and race.

UK Track Events with partner RMA
rma_logoYou may be sitting there projecting your car of choice. The space in the garage; the tool chests; the overalls on the washing line; garlands on the wall; silver polish for the cups. So other than warming the car up from time to time, where will you be able to use this pet monster of yours?

“Track day” is not a phrase we like much at Phantom. Track days can be the bone orchard for racing ambition. Testing, on the other hand, is the spring board into racing success. So we are going to take you testing with RMA, the Patek Philippe of the UK track event market.

This really is the only decent way to take your car testing on a track. It is civilised and elite so you can be sure that you will be keeping good company with both the other drivers their cars. You won’t have a day where zillion horsepower Subarus spill oil, Mitsubishi’s spin across your bows and pimply youths get in your way. This is the sort of day where you get some serious driving done. Moreover, there will be handful of world class instructors available to help you find your way around the track and develop your skills.

Unsurprisingly, full RMA membership is exclusive and, because Phantom Racing holds similar values, it seemed natural to provide access to this top quality organisation. So, when you buy a Phantom Racing car we will throw in a year of RMA’s UK track events, gratis.

Show Events at the home of Phantom Racing – Chillingham Castle
chillingham-castle2It is nice to have at least one event a year where we can get together with fellow competitors and chat without the pressures of racing.
We find that our pursuit of racing tends to work smoothly if, once in a while, we include all the family so, every autumn we host a relaxing weekend at the home of Phantom Motor racing, Chillingham Castle, where we wine and dine and trade tales of the season’s thrills and spills.

Track & Rally Adventures
quadeventsAs well as our mainstay race and social events in South Africa and the UK, we are also developing some track and rally adventures in USA and Turkey. Developed with locally experienced event partners, these offer thrills to the max, skills development and outstanding value for money.
Every year in July at Pikes Peak in Colorado, USA, is staged the hill climb to beat all hill climbs - the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb which is run on a 12.42 mile course that begins at 9,390 feet and finishes at the 14,110 foot summit. Riding racing quads, top competitors complete the course in under 12' 30" minutes averaging over 60mph through the 156 turns from start to finish. All you have to do is turn up and we'll do everything else from flights and hotels to race entry and all equipment.
We have also put together some track and rally experiences in Turkey with key partner and rally ace Ali Serpen (see him in action here).  A package of track-testing and racing, rally skills development and socialising simply does not come at a bigger bang per buck than this - we've tried and found nothing to match it.
